Early Intervention Service

We offer a wide range of services to disabled people and/or professionals.

These services are available to all statutory and professional bodies. Please contact us for an informal discussion.

It is not enough for someone to tell you that they understand what you and your family are going through. Help from someone with personal experience can be invaluable.

We know the importance of sorting out, as quickly as possible, those problems that seem insurmountable. Lack of a suitable wheelchair, accommodation, transport or personal support worker can exacerbate your disability, but this is something that can usually be sorted out fairly quickly and easily. On the other hand, some difficulties cannot be sorted out so easily, but talking to someone who has been through similar life experiences can reassure you there is life outside the walls of the rehabilitation unit.

Early Intervention Service - R T Disability Consultants Ltd

Our approach

In line with the Code of Best Practice and the modern approach to claims, we can offer our experience and the assistance of our support team to newly injured people and their families. As statutory services are often over-stretched, we work in harmony with your rehabilitation team to support and build on their work. What is really important is to identify and respond to your specific needs quickly and competently. This is something that we are well placed to do and you will be central to this. By involving you and those people important to you in every decision, you will be able to regain control over your life, monitor progress and gain knowledge and experience which will be essential to you and in your future life.

How does it work?

Your solicitor will ask us to visit you. Following a meeting with you and a visit to your home, the key areas in your life that need a rapid response will be identified. As far as possible we will help you to move forward, for example arranging suitable transport until you [or in some cases your family] are in a position to choose a vehicle for yourself, or arrange help for you and your family at home if needed. Together and in conjunction with the goals set by your rehabilitation team, we will find a way that suits you to meet those goals as quickly as possible. Where accommodation is an issue, it will be important to establish what the long-term situation is going to be and sometimes this is not known for several months. What is important is to show you our commitment to enable you to achieve the best possible outcome in the time available. Your solicitor will be kept fully informed of developments in accordance with your wishes. This service can be provided outside of the litigation process and on a joint-instruction basis.

Resources

It is natural that you will be concerned about the funding of this service and the resolution of goals. This service is agreed by your legal advisors and the insurance company and can be part of or separate from the legal framework. What is important is that your individual circumstances are taken into consideration and we will work with you to ensure that resources are used fairly and sensibly. In our experience, the sooner you start this process, the better it will be for you and your family.
